Vail Daily letter: Thanks for success

This year, the theme for the Teen Summer Reading program at the Eagle Valley Library District was “Express Yourself at your Library.”

The Avon, Eagle, and Gypsum public libraries would like to thank the following individuals and groups for their generous donations of time and talent to this year’s successful program:

Danita Chirichillo of the Avon Rec Center for energizing the group with kickboxing. Birgitta DePree for inspiring teens to act-out-loud. Sean Pack for teaching hip hop dance moves. The Eagle County Fair and Rodeo Board for the donation of free carnival tickets. The town of Gypsum for the use of their space. McHatten Creek Ranch for the donation of bags for teens to decorate and carry books in. Sheryl Odza for sharing her creative expertise with pottery and recycled art projects. Kari Sortland for her Capoiera demonstration and workshop. Sloan Munter, Kari Sortland and Ellicot Dandy of the Literacy Project. And the library district staff for their continuous support and volunteer efforts.

To all of our teen summer reading participants, thank you for your enthusiasm. Best of luck with the new school year!
