Vail Daily letter: Thanks for support
Vail, CO Colorado
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank the Vail Valley community for all of your support during my time on “Bravo’s Top Chef: D.C.” It has been an amazing and challenging adventure. The kind words, thoughts and efforts of those who are closest to my home have kept me grounded. I want to thank you all for allowing me to be an ambassador to Colorado and to Vail itself.
The letters I have received, phone calls and e-mails have been overwhelming. These sentiments mean so much to me it’s hard to describe. And so many of these thoughts have come from children! Students dragging their parents in for dinner, and even young kids letting me know they want to be a chef when they grow up (or just one for Halloween) are the best compliments I can receive. Being part of this community is one of the things I am most proud of, and I hope that my media attention has brought new people and positive attention to the culinary and hospitality scene here in our valley. The culinary community in Vail has so much to be proud of. There is so much collective talent in this valley, it still amazes me. I would put our valley chefs up against anyone, and I know we would crush the competition.
These events have tested me as an individual and as a chef, and have strengthened me in way I never would have imagined, and so much of the growth I have gained has been a direct result of your support. I can’t express enough how much it has meant to me over these past weeks to know my community is behind me; it’s times like these that I am constantly reminded of why I chose Vail as my home. Continuing to elevate Vail as the premier culinary and hospitality destination is something we are all working toward, each of us in our own ways. From our chefs to our line cooks, sommeliers, dishwashers, servers, vendors, sales people, managers … the list goes on, but we all play our part. I am happy that I have been able to play this role and am eagerly looking forward to what comes next for our amazing little mountain community!
Thank you again.
