Vail Daily letter: Thanks to educators
Edwards, CO Colorado
As we graduate the youngest of three in our family, we wish to express our appreciation to the Eagle County School District. The experience we have had with the public school system, while not without a few challenges, was overwhelmingly positive. Its creativity and enthusiasm for supporting the various interests of our local kids is borne in the district’s newest school, Vail Ski and Snowboard Academy. On Wednesday, the first class of graduates to have completed all four years of high school at VSSA will walk to “Pomp and Circumstance.”
From kindergarten teachers Miss Mary Stalnecker and Mrs. Barela at Edwards Elementary to Mr. Moser and Ms. Heaton at Berry Creek Middle School, Mrs. Wellbaum at Battle Mountain High School and Ms. Wheatly at VSSA, there have been many more teachers to mention that have believed in and supported our children throughout their public school educations. The “specials” teachers (Mrs. Gulizia, for one), librarians (Mrs. Hijmans, for one) and coaches (Mr. Parish, for one) are all part of the team that encouraged our daughters to success. We are fortunate to have been part of a school community that embraces the dreams of our children. Thank you.
