Vail Daily letter: Theft of kids’ gifts a really low blow

My kids were sledding in our West Vail backyard (one recent) morning. They left to go skiing with the family for a couple of hours. Upon our return home, the new sleds their grandmother gave them for Christmas were gone.

It is really a sad lesson to teach our 6-, 8- and 10-year-olds that their gifts they have not had for a week have been taken.

I would love to have the sleds back. But more importantly, I would like to trust that people will not come on our property and take our kids’ toys.
