Vail Daily letter: Time to speak up

While visiting Vail last season, I was asked to participate in a survey while I was riding up on Chair 2. I expressed my concerns about the lack of grooming. I questioned the young man doing the survey if there had been an increase in accidents since the grooming had been so drastically scaled back. I could not help but notice the ski patrol taking what appeared to me many more sleds off the mountain.

Vail Resorts needs to realize that we are customers and we have options. It is no surprise to me that there has been an avalanche of letters to the editor expressing concern about the deteriorating conditions on Vail Mountain. An older couple asked me the other day if Vail Resorts had sold their grooming machines to a resort that cared about their customers.

I felt bad for them as they were clearly very nervous about skiing in the difficult conditions on the mountain that day. It bothers me to complain about a place I love so much, but perhaps things will return to the way they were if enough of us speak up.
