Vail Daily letter: Use bike paths
July 15, 2010
I read with great amusement the article about bike safety on city streets and highways. All articles always include lessons for drivers on sharing the road. It was amazing to hear one rider saying that he doesn’t ride on bike paths because of dog walkers and baby strollers! Shouldn’t bike riders have to share the paths?
Taxpayers have spent millions creating these paths. They allow bikers to safely ride while not impeding traffic. Maybe it is time for bikers to follow traffic regulations to stop at all signs and lights, signal turns, and yield when they are suppose to.
