Vail Daily letter: Van Beek for sheriff
Vail, CO, Colorado
As a 30-year resident of Eagle County, I would like to express my support for James Van Beek in his campaign for Eagle County sheriff.
I have known James for more than 21 years. James is a man of honesty, integrity and accountability. You will always know where James stands on an issue. There is no facade. He will honestly tell you what he thinks and believes, and expects the same from others as well. This is a valuable characteristic, especially when it comes to law enforcement.
James has spent the past few years working in the Middle East helping war-torn countries. Helping them put law enforcement agencies together where none previously existed or if they did exist they were very corrupt. James’ experiences have taught him tolerance and acceptance. I am honored to know someone like James who truly believes in sharing the skills and knowledge he has gained to make a difference in the world.
I consider James, his wife, Carrie, and their two boys, Louis and William, family. They have been there for me in my personal and professional life. I know many others in the county could say the same. Their devotion to family and their community is very apparent.
James is a very involved parent and devoted husband despite being so far away doing his job! The relationship and bond he shares with his wife and boys is amazing.
James is committed to working with and for the people of Eagle County. I believe he is our best choice for the next Eagle County sheriff.
Please consider this when you vote on Nov. 2.
