The VFW would like to congratulate all the winners and extend appreciation to their families, their teachers and their counselors for the support and encouragement these wonderful young people have received. We wish the best for these accomplished young citizens.

The VFW would also like to thank the participating schools for affording us the opportunity to acknowledge our recipients and their accomplishments. We appreciate the chance to recognize academic achievement along with teamwork, community service and patriotism. Many of these students also have family members who have served in the military and it is our honor to recognize their service and the support of their families.

The VFW also presented the VFW Colorado District 8 national Citizenship Education Teacher Award to Ann Constien at Red Canyon High School. Ms. Constien was acknowledged for her efforts in organizing “The Vietnam War Project” and “Girls Learn International,” along with many other insightful education programs. We are fortunate to have such a dedicated teacher with exceptional leadership in our schools.

With thanks to a wonderful community.
