Vail Daily letter: What great people

Paying it forward is the Colorado way: I moved here from the Midwest about five years ago and have noticed one significant difference … the people.

On my way to work a couple of weeks ago, I ran out of gas. Seeing that I wasn’t far from the school where I work, I decided to walk. I had not been walking for more than five minutes when a car pulled over to help. It just happened to be a parent of one of the children at the school.

This parent went above and beyond to make sure that my day had not been ruined. Not only did he give me a ride to school, but he proceeded to put gas in my car then drive it to the school and park it for me.

We are lucky to live in such a supportive community. Thank you, Hoeve family, for your act of kindness!
