Vail Daily letter: Wounded Warrior success
Vail, CO, Colorado
On behalf of all the members of Vail Fire and Emergency Services, we would like to take this opportunity to thank the following organizations and individuals responsible for making this year’s Wounded Warriors Firehouse Dinner such a success. Without their help and commitment, such an undertaking would be impossible.
Thanks to Britney and the Lodge at Vail for the tables and chairs. Every year they make these available and we now seat over 80 folks in Station 2’s bays. A big thank you as well to The Sonnenalp Resort for the pots and pans that held the lasagna. Alpine Party Rentals for providing the hot boxes that kept the food warm. Vail Honeywagon provided us with the portable facilities needed. For the beverages and all the food items we would like to thank Beaver Liquors and Safeway.
Many area stores and companies are responsible for the numerous gifts, awards and prizes, and we thank them all. To Brian McCartney, Donna Giordonna, Dwight Henninger, Austen Davis and the serving crew of paid and resident firefighters alike, we say thanks again for your participation in making this dinner truly memorable.
In addition, we would like to thank the staff from the various military branches as well as Walter Reed Medical. And to the adaptive ski instructors and staff from Vail Resorts who give of their time all week long as well as here at the firehouse — a heartfelt thanks.
To Cheryl Jensen, a thank you that could never be big enough, for all you do to organize this yearly event. It is truly an inspiring experience for all involved.
And finally, to the men and women of our military who honor us with their service and unwavering dedication to this country. Vail Fire and Emergency Services thanks you.
