Vail Daily photo: Six years of skiing
Saturday was the big six-year anniversary for Rainer Hertrich of Copper Mountain as he has skied every day for six years in a row without missing a lay, achieving a world record.
During regular season, he skis Loveland, Arapahoe Basin and Copper Mountain ski areas and then heads north to finish off the North American season at Mount Hood, Ore., by Labor Day each year. In one day, Hertrich flies to Chile where he begins to ski the rest of our summer and into the fall until Loveland Ski Area in Colorado opens for a new season. Hertrich, in full tele regalia, is shown here sking the newly opened Upper Richards run at Loveland Ski Area recently.
