Vail Dance Festival introduces ‘performance plus pass’ for 2005
VAIL – The airlines have frequent flier programs, retailers have “buy-one-get-one-free” promotions, and now, the Vail International Dance Festival has the “Performance Plus Pass,” a new multiticket offer for the 2005 season.
Priced at $55, the Performance Plus Pass is a nontransferable punch pass, good for one general admission lawn seat for all five Vail International Dance Festival performances at the Ford Amphitheater. In addition to the initial savings of $30 on individual general admission tickets priced at $17, the Performance Plus Pass will also allow the holder to upgrade to a reserved seat, if available, one hour prior to the start of the performance for no additional charge. Reserved seats are priced between $55-$85 apiece, depending on the performance. Performance Plus also entitles the holder to a $10 discount on the purchase of a bottle of wine, with a limit of one bottle per show.
“This is a great program, not just from a financial standpoint,” Ceil Folz, president of the Vail Valley Foundation, said. “Even if you never get upgraded, if you go to four of the five performances you’ve saved money. Add to that a discount on wine and the tremendous artists we have assembled for this year’s festival, and you have a tremendous return on your investment.”The 2005 Vail International Dance Festival runs from July 30 through Aug. 7, with performances at the Ford Amphitheater and Vilar Center for the Arts in Beaver Creek. Headlining the 2005 festival will be Inaki Urlezaga and Tamara Rojo of the Royal Ballet of London, along with American Ballet Theatre’s Paloma Herrera and Marcelo Gomes.
Other festival highlights include the popular International Evenings of Dance, a pair of Different Dimensions evenings, and a complimentary performance by Houston’s FLY Dance Company, combining classical music and hip-hop dance. The new Performance Plus Pass will go on sale June 1 and may be purchased at the Vilar Center/Ford Amphitheater Box Office at 845-TIXS (8497) or 888-920-ARTS (2787).
