Vail events committee seeks input

VAIL ” The Town of Vail’s Commission on Special Events is seeking input from the community on the type of events held in town.

Time for public participation and a discussion has been set aside during the commission’s meeting Sept. 23, which begins at 9 a.m. in the Vail Town Council Chambers.

The commission receives its funds from the Vail Town Council and is charged with making recommendations on how to best allocate funding to stimulate the local economy and to promote an atmosphere of vitality, yearround fun, sense of community and increased quality of experience for Vail’s guests and residents.

The committee is still accepting funding requests from producers for 2009 events.

Guidelines and accompanying information are available at the Vail Municipal Building at 75 South Frontage Road, or online at under Public Notices and RFPs, or by calling 376-2394. Applications are due Oct. 3.
