VAIL, Colorado –Looking fabulous at the Squash Blossom in Vail, Colorado is a long story. Since 1973 the Squash Blossom has been a destination for unique jewelry.

When looking through today’s high fashion magazines, one can hardly miss the Squash Blossoms world-renowned designers, such as Irene Neuwirth. Her creations have enhanced the ears, wrists and necks of Hollywood’s most fashion-forward celebrities.

Distinguished by a modern and sophisticated style, Neuwirth’s pieces combine a mix of vibrant gemstones and simple shapes. At the core of her collection, one finds rainbow moonstone, labradorite and pave diamonds enhanced by semi-precious gemstones that are set in matte 18-karat yellow, white and rose gold.

When wearing one of Irene Neuwirth’s pieces you can feel her awe of nature and the inspiration she receives from it, Squash Blossom manager Amy Logan says.

“I am excited to see the fresh new color in Irene’s Summer 2009 collections,” Logan says. “She has expanded her line to include pieces with multiple colors, and larger, more ornate pendant necklaces. Her bangles are the best out there with fun, strong color in cabochon chrysoprase, lapis and tourmalines. They look great layered with gold and thin diamond bangles.”

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Neuwirth’s family divided its time between the beach in Venice, Calif., and the mountains of Telluride. From an early age, Neuwirth says she was a creative, free-spirited child, captivated by the beauty of her natural surroundings.

Neuwirth discovered her talent for jewelry while attending the University of Vermont. After school, she says people would often stop her on the street to inquire about the jewelry she wore and designed.

She began to create custom pieces and in 2000 Irene Neuwirth Design was born. Since then she has emerged as a leading designer and the new designs and colors of the Irene Neuwirth Collection is widely anticipated season to season.
