Vail: Frogs Gone Fishin’ hop into the lead
Vail, CO Colorado
VAIL, Colorado “-With just two weeks remaining until the final vote count is tallied, Denver’s Frogs Gone Fishin’ holds the lead in the public online voting that will determine the performers for the July 7 Bud Light Hot Summer Nights free concert series at Vail, Colorado’s Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater.
Hopping through a repertoire of rock, funk, soul, blues and reggae, the quartet holds close to an 800-vote lead over current runner-up Gaslight Street, with Bonfire Dub in third place. Outformation, Great American Taxi, DJ Logic, Socialibrium and Global Noize hold down the 4 through 8 positions in the poll.
As of April 19, a total of 7,333 votes had been cast. Voting is currently available on the Vail Valley Foundation’s Web site at http://www.hotsummernightsconcerts.com. The winner will be announced on May 1.
“I have been extremely impressed by the number of votes we have received in the first two weeks,” said Michael Imhof, vice president of sales and operations for the Vail Valley Foundation. “Frogs Gone Fishin’ has certainly benefited from sending out the information to their fan base, but there’s still two more weeks of voting. It’s great to see the interest and respect that the Bud Light Hot Summer Nights series has earned, both within the Vail Valley as well as outside of the community.”
The 2009 edition of Bud Light Hot Summer Nights will officially kickoff June 16 with the Southern soul sounds of J.J. Grey and Mofro. The series will once again team up with the Vail International Dance Festival, with the annual Hot Summer Nights of Dance slated for Aug. 11.
