VAIL, Colorado – America’s highest botanical Gardens is a feature attraction on Fox television this weekend.

Denver’s Fox network affiliate, KDVR Fox 31, is profiling Vail’s Betty Ford Alpine Gardens on its popular morning outdoor-living show “Dig In” on Saturday at its normal time on Saturdays, 6:30 a.m. The show, video taped in July, is scheduled to air again in a special broadcast on Sunday at noon.

“We are very excited about airing your segment,” the show’s producer, Blaine Howerton, told the Gardens this week. “It turned out very nicely.”

The Sunday broadcast, Howerton said, is “to gauge viewer response.” In addition to Fox 31 – which for viewers throughout most of the Vail Valley appears on Comcast’s channel 13 – “Dig In” typically airs on Eagle County’s public-access channel several times a week.

“Dig In,” sponsored by The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, is designed “to entertain and inform Denver area outdoor enthusiasts about enjoying your outdoor living space,” Howerton said. It’s one of several award-winning shows produced by Howerton’s Denver-based production company, Yellow Gal High Definition. Ultimately, Howerton said, the company hopes to expand the show beyond Colorado to Texas and other states.
