EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado ” Beaver Creek reported 9 inches of new snow, Vail reports 7 inches of new snow.

Beaver Creek is reporting a 74 inch mid-mountain base, Vail is right behind with a 62 inch mid-mountain base. Both resorts have 100 percent of trails open.

The five day forecast calls for overcast conditions on Monday and Tuesday, with highs in the low 40’s and upper 30’s and lows in the teens.

SNOW WILL DEVELOP AND BECOME WIDESPREAD THIS AFTERNOON WITH THE HEAVIEST SNOW EXPECTED OVERNIGHT. SNOW INTENSITY WILL DECREASE FOR A BRIEF TIME ON MONDAY. HOWEVER…PERIODS OF HEAVY SNOW WILL PERSIST THROUGH MONDAY EVENING. TOTAL STORM SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS WILL RANGE FROM 10 TO 20 INCHES ABOVE 9000 FEET…

INCLUDING MOUNTAIN PASSES.

WIND WILL ACCOMPANY THE SNOW THIS AFTERNOON AND OVERNIGHT WITH SOUTHWEST WIND 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 50 MPH. THE STRONGEST WIND GUSTS WILL BE OVER THE SAN JUAN MOUNTAINS WHERE SOME GUSTS WILL APPROACH 75 MPH TONIGHT. PEOPLE TRAVELING OVER THE MOUNTAIN PASSES CAN EXPECT SUBSTANTIAL BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW CAUSING WHITEOUT CONDITIONS.

A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. STRONG WINDS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE. THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR IMPOSSIBLE.
