Vail giving away mulch
Vail, CO Colorado
VAIL, Colorado” The town of Vail, Colorado is giving free mulch to residents in an effort to conserve water.
Residents can place the much around trees and shrubs or put it elsewhere in gardens. Mulch helps conserve water by decreasing soil temperatures and the amount of soil exposed to wind and sun.
The mulch is available at the town’s Public Works facility, 1309 Elkhorn Drive, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, on a first-come, first-served basis. Residents must load their own trucks and provide their own buckets and shovels.
The town’s supply of wood chip mulch comes from beetle kill trees that have been removed from the area during the past few years. For more information, contact Charlie Turnbull, the town’s Streets Superintendent, at 970-477-3425.
There Marco Odermatt was, in the Birds of Prey finish corral following his gutsy super-G run, wondering just how fast he was. As the second skier on course, and the first to finish, the confusion was understandable.
