Vail goes online for street work bids
Vail, CO Colorado
VAIL, Colorado “The town of Vail will enlist an online bidding process to help get a good price for a portion of the town’s annual street maintenance project. This will be the first time Vail has used an online service as an alternative to a sealed bid process.
BidBridge LLC provides assistance in expanding potential bidder lists and is responsible for conducting a live, reverse bid auction process that has cut costs between 7 and 13 percent for public and private sector clients across the country. There is no cost to the town to use the online service. Instead, the vendor collects a fee from the awarded bidder which is included in the cost of the bid. If the town is successful with the outcome of its upcoming bid process, the online program could be extended to other purchases by the town of $50,000 or more.–
The online bidding will take place beginning at 2 p.m. May 20, when contractors will submit their bids for the town’s annual slurry seal maintenance project for streets in the West Vail neighborhood.
For more information, call Chad Salli, the town’s project engineer, at 479-2169. Or, to enroll with the BidBridge LLC service, call Pam Hodelka at (877) 245-8880.
Wildfires have become more numerous, bigger and more destructive in the past 40 years. That’s a big deal in a town surrounded by public land.
