Vail helps host fire code seminar

VAIL, Colorado – Vail, in partnership with the American Institute of Architects Colorado West Chapter, will present a one-day seminar on Oct. 9 to review changes to the 2009 International Building and Fire codes.

The session is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Vail Town Council Chambers, 75 S. Frontage Rd. The workshop is the only class to be held in the West Slope region before the new fire codes take effect on Jan. 1.

The workshop will review major changes from the 2006 building codes to the 2009 codes. The course will be instructed by Terrell Stripling of the International Code Council, an instructor with 20 years of fire service experience and a construction background.



The cost of the workshop is $50 per person and includes a workbook. Attendees will earn education credits in the form of continuing education units and its equivalent for architects licensed in Colorado. The registration deadline is Friday.
