Vail hits July sales tax record
Vail, CO Colorado
VAIL, Colorado – The town of Vail expects to collect nearly $245,000 more in sales tax revenues for the month of July than it collected in July 2010.
The town has already collected $1,413,143 in sales taxes for July, but the town’s finance department expects to collect another $60,000.
Even without the additional $60,000, the 2011 July collection is a town record. The last time the town came close to collecting that much was in 2008, when it collected $1,397,842.
With the additional $60,000 that is anticipated, collections would be up more than 26 percent, or $308,059, from budget, and up nearly 20 percent, or $244,376, from July 2010.
Year-to-date revenue would be up more than 13 percent, or $1,505,534 from the town’s original 2011 budget.
