Vail hospital honors employees
VAIL – Employees of Vail Valley Medical Center honored their co-workers Friday at an awards banquet held at the Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek. The event recognized hospital employees with milestone years of service and employees who have exhibited the hospital’s 6 Peaks of Excellence. “The ‘6 Peaks of Excellence’ are the core values of Vail Valley Medical Center,” says Doris Kirchner, president of the medical center. “The honorees have demonstrated noteworthy achievements around the 6 Peaks which are: people, quality, service, safety, growth and finance.”The award winners by are Keith Sirois of admissions for the excellence in people; Sharon Granzo, an operating room nurse, for excellence in quality; Crystal Chapman, Kris Serbousek, Tom Hogan, Chris Sheahan and Cynthia Wickum of the CT scan team for excellence in safety; Carrie McDowell, Clinical Informatics nurse, for excellence in service Peak; Bobby Brown, patient care and intensive care nurse, for excellence in finance; and Kim Greene, ThinkFirst director, for excellence in growth. Sixty-four employees were honored for their five-, 10-, 15- and 20-year anniversary with the medical center. Four celebrated 25 years: Charlene Kirby of Avon Urgent Care, Cynthia Wizeman of the Women’s & Children’s Center, Christine Morrison of VVSC and Jane Brandes of VVSC/Home Health.
