Vail Hot Summer Night concerts begin Tuesday
VAIL Summer kicks off in style Tuesday night at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater in Vail as the Bud Light Hot Summer Nights concert series opens with a performance by the kings of punkabilly, The Reverend Horton Heat. The free music starts at 6:30 p.m., with the gates opening at 5:30 p.m.
The Bud Light Hot Summer Nights concert series really has become an event synonymous with summer, said Vail Valley Foundation President Ceil Folz. Its the perfect way to enjoy the warmer months under the beautiful backdrop of the Gore Range, with free music and great friends.The series begins its 10-week run Tuesday with the searing guitar chops and engaging onstage antics of The Reverend Horton Heat. Without question, Horton Heats blistering stage performances and legendary musical prowess have brought them a diverse fan base and a devoted cult following, not to mention the respect of fellow musicians worldwide throughout their nearly 20-year journey. The Reverend Horton Heat take the stage at 6:30 p.m., but the party starts an hour earlier when the gates open. Full concessions are served at the amphitheater, where many claim you can find the best burger in town. Picnic blankets, food and sealed nonalcoholic beverages are welcome. Please leave dogs, alcoholic beverages and lawn chairs at home.The series continues each Tuesday night through Aug. 19, with the exclusion of July 29.
