Vail implements new parking plan

Daily staff report
Vail, CO Colorado

VAIL, Colorado -The town of Vail will implement its new summer parking plan today to coincide with the season debut of the Hot Summer Nights Concert in Ford Park.

The plan includes full utilization of the Vail Village and Lionshead parking structures before allowing overflow parking on the frontage road. For added convenience, a new Village-to-Village express route will be activated with six- to eight-minute bus service along the frontage road. The express will run from 4 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday with stops at the east side entry to the Lionshead parking structure, in front of the Vail Village Information Center and at Ford Park. Signs and parking hosts will be used to help direct concert-goers to the new stops.

Also on Tuesday, the in-town shuttle will extend its route past Golden Peak east to the soccer field from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. for easy access to and from the amphitheater. As in the past, summer parking will remain free in the town’s structures with $5 close-in paid parking at Ford Park and the soccer field on peak event days, including the free Tuesday night concerts.

The express bus, the in-town extended route and paid close-in parking will be implemented on select event days throughout the summer. Visit to access a calendar with parking and transit details. The site also includes a printable map and real-time parking status updates for the parking structures as well as Ford Park via
