Special to the Vail DailyNew jewelry by Irene Neuwirth is on display at The Squash Blossom in Vail, Colorado Saturday through Tuesday.

VAIL, Colorado – A collection of Irene Neuwirth’s jewelry will be on display for the second time this summer, today through Tuesday, at The Squash Blossom in Vail, Colorado.

Distinguished by a modern and sophisticated style, Neuwirth’s creations combine a mix of vibrant gemstones and simple shapes. The core of her collection is pave diamonds and semi-precious gemstones that are set in 18-karat yellow, white and rose gold.

Neuwirth says her fundamental inspiration is the purity, power and color of the ocean.

“Irene’s love for the water is reflected in her newest passion, boulder opals,” said Amy Logan, manager of the Squash Blossom. “She has created gorgeous, one-of-a kind pieces by grouping the opals in natural shapes. The finished jewelry reflects natural forms like flowers and butterflies.

“The quality of the opals is amazing with deep blue and purple hues and flashes of turquoise, green and reds,” she said. “As with all of Irene’s jewelry, the opal pieces are easy to wear from day into evening.”
