VAIL, Colorado – Claggett/Rey Gallery, located at 100 E. Meadow Drive in Vail Village is featuring new works by Kent Lemon and other artists during the Connoisseur’s Trail Friday from 5 to 7:30 pm.. Tickets are available at the Claggett/Rey Gallery for $30.

Lemon is a Colorado native. He grew up in a home filled with paintings with a family immersed in the arts.

“I was going to be a doctor like my dad – I even spent a year in pre-med at CU,” said Lemon. “But during lectures, I’d find myself drawing people’s hands just to fight the boredom. That’s when I knew ‘I really like this,’ and while most kids draw and paint, I figured out I could make a living out of it.”

Lemon was educated at Colorado University in Boulder, and Parsons School of Design in New York. After studying in New York, he returned to Colorado and apprenticed with Denver artists Mark Daly and Ned Jacob. With numerous trips around the country and abroad as a plein-air painter, he has gained wide acclaim for his use of rich color.

Lemon has spent the last several weeks exploring the Vail Valley and painting on location.
