Vail leads development tours

VAIL, Colorado – Vail planning staff will lead a series of public walking tours to showcase development projects within Vail Village and Lionshead.

Stops on the tours include Solaris, One Willow Bridge Road and Vail’s Front Door in Vail Village as well as Arrabelle, Lion Square Lodge and Landmark in Lionshead. Planners will talk about each project’s impact on the town.

The tours will depart from the Colorado Ski Museum entrance at the Vail Village Transportation Center as follows:

• Thursday, 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

• Oct. 8, 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

• Oct. 15, noon to 1:30 p.m.

• Oct. 22, , noon to 1:30 p.m.

The tours will not go inside the buildings.

Since 2004, including projects currently under construction, Vail’s lodging bed base has grown by 587 units as a result of the redevelopment. In addition, 94,284 square feet of net new commercial space has been added. Private project valuation has exceeded $2 billion with an additional $15 million in public projects. From 2005 through 2008, redevelopment projects generated an estimated $15.6 million in net new revenue to the community.
