VAIL – The Vail Public Library will provide an afternoon of games, birthday cake and read-aloud stories for families and children of all ages.

This birthday party takes place from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Feb. 28 in the community room of the library. The event joins many reading events in celebration of the birthday of Theodore Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss, which is March 2.

Readers will include three local celebrities and the children’s readers theater group from Red Sandstone Elementary. Local TV personality Erik Williams, assistant Vail town manager Pam Brandmeyer and Town of Vail council member Kevin Foley will each read a favorite childhood story.

“I love reading and have my entire life,” Williams said. “Some of the first books that I remember reading with my family are the ‘Chronicles of Narnia,’ ‘The Indian in the Cupboard’ and ‘The Education of Little Tree.’ I’ll be bringing one of my favorites to read!”

Brandmeyer will read one of the One Book 4 Colorado nominees.
