Vail library hosts magician Tuesday
VAIL, Colorado – Summer readers, ages 6 and up, are invited to the Vail Public Library from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday for the summer reading program featuring magician Erica Sodos. This week’s event is filled with stories, art and activities for the first hour before the magician takes the stage.
Sodos comes from Boulder and has been performing magic for 17 years. She brings her one-woman show to the library to celebrate summer and reading with the children, both guests and locals, of Vail.
“My passion is to amaze, entertain and inspire you into believing in magic and your own abilities to make magic happen,” Sodos said.
Female magicians are rare. In fact, of the 7,000 members of the Society of American Magicians, the largest magic organization in the country, only 479 – about 7 percent – are women.
The theme of the summer reading program this year is Splash into Reading. Sodos will present her character, Captain Rosebud, in keeping with that theme.
