Michael Scott Rouff, 26, was convicted by a jury, Aug. 9, of first-degree sexual assault and contributing to the delinquency of a minor after a three-day trial in Eagle County District Court, Deputy District Attorney Brenda Parks says.

Rouff faces up between four and 14 years in prison and up to $1 million in fines when he is sentenced on the two charges Dec. 18, Parks says.

Rouff and another man invited the girl to a party the night of Aug. 24 that continued into the early morning hours of Aug. 25, Parks says.

The girl, whose name is being withheld, got drunk on drinks Rouff and the other man gave her throughout the night, Parks says.

The girl had fended off sexual advances by Rouff and the other man, but the two men sexually assaulted her later that night, Parks says.

The case was investigated by the Eagle County sheriff’s Deputy Tamra Blackard, Parks says.
