Vail man in hospital after being hit by car
VAIL ” A 23-year-old man was seriously injured when he was hit by a car on North Frontage Road, in front of the Timber Ridge apartments, Thursday evening.
The man, who lived in the complex, and two others had crossed Interstate 70 after seeing a movie in Cascade Village when he was hit by the car around 6:15 p.m., Vail Police Sgt. Craig Bettis said.
“He was crossing the frontage road near Timber Ridge or walking alongside it and entered the roadway, and a car traveling eastbound struck him, and he ended up on the side of the road,” Bettis said.
Because the man’s condition may be life threatening his name has not been released, Bettis said. The man was taken to Vail Valley Medical Center but transported to a hospital in Denver later Thursday night.
Vail police are continuing to investigate the accident.
