Vail Marriott has new manager
BROOMFIELD — Vail Resorts recently announced the appointment of Kellie Newman as general manager of the Vail Marriott Mountain Resort.
“We are excited to welcome Kellie to our team,” said Bryan Austin, vice president of Eagle County Hospitality for Vail Resorts. “She brings excellent experience in hospitality operations as well as meetings and events, which are critical aspects of the guest experience at Vail Marriott Mountain Resort.”
Newman began her career with Marriott in 1991 as a housekeeping intern at Marriott’s Tan-Tar-A Resort. After graduating from Purdue University, she worked at Chicago Marriott’s downtown location, as well as other Marriott hotels in the Chicago area in room operations and sales, eventually becoming the director of the event booking center in Nashville, Tenn. In 2000, she moved to Marriott International corporate headquarters, leading to an opportunity to open the London sales office in 2003. Newman returned to the operations side as director of rooms operation at Orlando Marriott World Center Resort and Convention Center. She has served as general manager for the Renaissance Charleston Hotel Historic District and Denver Marriott West.
Throughout her career, Newman has served on numerous industry boards, chambers and associations, as well as multiple advisory councils within the Marriot organization.
