Vail Mountain adds summer activities

VAIL, Colorado – Consistently warmer temperatures and sunny days over the last few weeks are helping to usher in summer on Vail Mountain and the launch of additional activities, including the new motorized Top of the Mountain Tour, beginning Friday. While the snowpack is melting quickly, crews have been able to save enough snow at Adventure Ridge to offer two lanes of tubing for one more weekend, Friday through Sunday, as conditions permit.

Vail’s new 45-minute Top of the Mountain Tour combines adventure for all ages with incredible summer views of Vail’s legendary Back Bowls, the Gore Range and Mount of the Holy Cross from high atop Vail Mountain in an open air vehicle. The 11-mile loop begins at Eagle’s Nest and continues beyond Patrol Headquarters to Two Elk before returning to the western end of the mountain.

The Eagle Bahn Gondola (No. 19) will be open this weekend from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Tubing will be available from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Also available will be the climbing wall, bungee trampoline, and Dino Dig as well as dining at Talon’s Deck, offering a range of lunch items from BBQ and burgers to salads and regular specials. Hours and operations of on-snow attractions this weekend are weather dependent as crews continue preparing for traditional summer activities including the new nine-hole miniature golf course in Lionshead, horseback tours, pony rides, disc golf and more.

Daily operations of the Eagle Bahn Gondola and dining at Bistro Fourteen and Game Creek begin June 23.
