Vail Mountain opens today for summer

Here is the lift schedule:

Eagle Bahn Gondola in Lionshead:

June 14- June 23, open Friday-Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

June 28- Sept. 2, open Sunday through Wednesday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Vista Bahn Chairlift in Vail Village:

July 3-4, open Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

July 5-Sept. 1, weekend operations (Friday through Sunday) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Guests will be able to access all of the on-mountain adventures at Vail with the new Adventure Ridge Action Pass or an all day lift ticket that includes unlimited rides and bike haul. The Action Pass, selling for $35 for adults and $30 for children, includes lift rides, bike haul, lunch at Talon’s Deck, laser tag, one trampoline session, orienteering, hiking, Dino Dig, BMX Park, and discounts on downhill guided adventures. The pass can be upraded to include more features, as well.

This summer’s lift pricing is $16 for adults, $10 for children ages 5 to 12, $10 for seniors (age 65-69), $5 for seniors 70 and over, and free for kids under 4 years old. Beginning Friday, June 28, twilight rides on the gondola are free from 5-9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.

Winter season passes such as the Merchant Pass and Value Pass are valid for free summer rides and require a daily bike haul fee of $10. Merchant, Value, Colorado Pass, and additional four-resort pass holders also may purchase an unlimited summer bike haul pass for $29, valid at Vail.

Vail Summer Adventure Ridge Vail Summer Adventure Ridge, at the top of the Eagle Bahn Gondola, offers a variety of acivities.

New this season is the BMX Park, opening Friday, June 21. The BMX Park is located at Adventure Ridge, west of the gondola where the kid’s snowmobile track is located in the wintertime. Kids 8 and older can try the natural bumps and jumps in the park. Bikes and body armor are included in the rental price. Rentals are available at Baileys Pavilion. Thirty-minute sessions are $12 per person.

Another new feature is the Rebound Trampoline, west of the base of the gondola on the lawn. Beginning Thursday, June 20, adults and kids 5 and older can strap into the bungee harness and explore their acrobatic side. The Rebound Trampoline will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and 10-minute sessions are $8 per person.

Activities back this year include the Thrill Sled, Dino Dig, indoor laser tag, guided hikes, disc golf, orienteering map and compass course, Discovery Center, the Friday Afternoon Club, hiking trails and mountain biking.
