Vail Mountain School holiday dinner dance and auction
Open House for parents of prospective kindergarten students is Wednesday, Dec. 4 starting at 7 p.m. at Vail Mountain School. Parents are invited to learn more about Vail Mountain School curriculum and programs from the headmaster and lower school administration and teachers. An independent, college preparatory school, Vail Mountain School has 250 students in kindergarten through grade twelve. Be a special volunteer
The good folks who run the Special Olympics are looking for volunteers to work with our local Special Olympics athletes at Sunday trainings. You’ll be on duty January and February for alpine, snowshoe, and someone to guide a sit skier. They’ll train you. Snowshoe practices are flexible. Turkey Trot for charity
The Vail Athletic Club’s Charity Turkey Trot is Dec. 1. It’s a benefit for Roger Pepper Adventure Camps, founded by local artist Allison Massari to build the confidence of young burn survivors by introducing them to the thrill of outdoor adventure. The camps now work in conjunction with the Crested Butte Adaptive Sports Center to host two week-long camps each year. The races (10K, and 5K) start at 10 a.m., and the raffle is at noon.
Family CD Central
The Family Learning Center is selling personalized children’s CD’s for $15. There are eight songs on each CD and each is personalized to include your child’s name. The songs are fun songs that help your child learn their name, letters, and numbers and more. There are over 800 names to choose from and names can also be customized. This is a great gift idea for Christmas. The Family Learning Center will receive $5 from every sale to help with the purchase of classroom supplies. The deadline to order is Dec. 12.
