Special to the DailyEighth-grader Billy Mitchell wins "most original" for his "DaVinci Takes Flight" project.

VAIL, Colorado – Vail Mountain School held its annual science fair on Monday. From projects titled “Musical Plants,” to “Sunny With a Chance of Energy,” the seventh- and eighth- grade students who participated used their imagination, the scientific method, and some creativity to present their findings to a panel of judges.

Seventh grade

Christopher Giovagnoli, “Wind Resistance (What a Drag)” – best overall

Henry Minervini, “A Sticky Situation” – most scientific

Trevor Sheldon, “Ice Cubes Are Melting” – most original

Eighth grade

Clare Baker, “Save Your ‘C’ Levels” – most scientific

Brett Ferraro, “Troubled Waters?” – best overall

The “most scientific” and “best overall” winners will go on to the Colorado/Wyoming Junior Academy of Science annual meeting for middle school science fair winners in April.
