VAIL, Colorado- Vail Mountain School kicked off the gala season with a showstopper on Saturday. The event, themed “A Magical Evening of Surprises,” was took place in the school’s transformed gymnasium, corridors and commons, thanks to the imagination and creativity of Pink Monkey Solutions and a whole slew of hard working volunteers, staff and sponsors. This elegant affair is not your ordinary school fundraiser and was full of surprises. A handsome fire juggler greeted partygoers outside the school as the freshly fallen snow glistened in the alpenglow and the full moon rose. Strolling the halls were taller-than-life women on stilts that got many a backward glance.

Co-chairs Nancy Cole and Rebecca Davis did a fantastic job weaving their magic and producing an event that required countless hours and was executed with style and grace. They would like to thank the hundreds of donors, sponsors and underwriters whose gifts to the auction helped the school raise significant funds for programs, resources and tuition assistance for students at Vail Mountain School. This year, in lieu of the headmaster’s fund, there was a “Raise Your Paddle” to help VMS purchase two new 12-passenger vans.

VMS Chef Forrest Knapp and Eric Berg of Vail Catering Concepts served guests a scrumptious meal and delicious dessert. These talented chefs are awesome yet approachable, much like their cooking style.

The live auction had something for everyone with extravagant vacations, unique opportunities and dinners prepared by local Chefs Kelly Liken and Zak Stone and Headmaster Peter Abuisi and Bob Bandoni.

It seems there was magic in the air for such gracious and generous giving to be going on.
