Vail Mountain to open earlier starting Friday

Vail opened additional terrain Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing total open terrain to 4,000 acres.

VAIL — Vail Mountain will move to its winter morning operating schedule beginning Friday. With the shift in operating hours, the majority of front side lifts will open at 8:30 a.m. and close at 3:30 p.m.

The Back Bowls and Game Creek as well as Blue Sky Basin will open as soon as lifts and terrain are ready. The Back Bowls and Game Creek will continue to close at 3 p.m.; Blue Sky Basin will close at 2:30 p.m. Lift operating hours are posted at the base of all open lifts and are subject to change with conditions.

All ticket office and Vail Ski & Snowboard School locations in Vail will continue to be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.



Throughout the day Tuesday and Wednesday, Vail opened additional terrain, including portions of Siberia Bowl. The resort currently has more than 4,000 of skiable acres open, including 177 trails.
