Vail needs liquor board volunteer
Vail, CO Colorado
VAIL, Colorado ” The town of Vail, Colorado is trying to fill an empty seat on its Local Licensing Authority, commonly known as the liquor board. Applications are due to the town by 5 p.m. May 26.
Applicants will be interviewed by the Town Council at its June 2 afternoon work session, with an appointment to follow at its evening meeting.
The five-member Vail Local Licensing Authority meets the second Wednesday of each month beginning at 10 a.m. in the Vail Town Council Chambers. This volunteer board reviews all liquor license applications.
The new member’s term will run until June 1, 2011. To qualify, applicants must be U.S. citizens, registered to vote in Vail, have lived in Vail for at least two years, and have no direct financial interest in any license to sell alcoholic beverages or any location having any such license.
Persons interested in serving on the board should submit letters of interest and experience by mail or in person to the Vail Town Council, Attn.: Lorelei Donaldson, Town Clerk, 75 S. Frontage Rd., Vail, CO 81657, or by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org, or by fax to 479-2320 no later than 5 p.m. May 26.
A survey showed a good bit of support for local government action to bolster workforce housing in town. For now though, that support stops at supporting a new tax for funding.
