Vail Nordic Center pass sales begin Monday

VAIL ” The Nordic Center in Vail, Colorado, will begin selling season passes from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, starting Monday.

Season passes will be available for purchase at early season rates through Friday and will cost $75 for adults, $70 for Vail residents and $40 for students. Beginning Nov. 17, passes will cost $90 for adults, $85 for Vail residents and $50 for students. Daily fees for the 2008-09 season will be $8.

Mia Stockdale, who co-owns the Nordic Center with Shane Sluder, says the track will open when conditions permit and will offer 17 kilometers of groomed ski trails and 10 kilometers of separate snowshoe trails.



New this year, the Vail Recreation District, which maintains the trail system for Stockdale and Sluder, purchased a new snowcat that will improve the quality of the groomed trails.
