VAIL, Colorado ” During a heated Vail, Colorado pool game March 1 among four young men where fighting words were exchanged, an bar employee stepped in and defused the situation.

But it picked up about two hours later, the employee told police.

The employee went outside and found two of the men throwing punches at one of the pool opponents, who was now on the ground. The fourth man in the group stood off to the side while another employee of the bar tried breaking up the fight.

Then he started swinging punches at the peaceful employee, the report said.

The fight was broken up shortly after that, but flared up when the man who was pounced on got up and spit blood in one of the aggressor’s face. It was broken up again and the two men who were throwing most of the punches fled.

The victim had to be taken to Vail Valley Medical Center, where it was discovered he had a warrant out for his arrest for failing to appear in court. Adding insult to injury, he was charged with disorderly conduct and being a fugitive from justice.
