VAIL –Lily Hathorn, a preschool teacher at The Children’s Garden of Learning, won the Vail Valley’s Moe Mulrooney award at the recent 2010 teachers awards dinner

“I am so honored and humbled,” said Hathorn . “To win this award is nothing short of thrilling.” A

Children’s Garden of Learning teacher Anna Wagner, was also nominated for the same award.

The Moe Mulrooney Award is voted on by parents, directors and other teachers, and awarded to the teacher with the most votes. Moe Mulrooney was a 20-year preschool veteran and founder of the Learning Tree in the Vail Valley. The award, established in 2004, is presented annually to an early childhood educator/care provider.

New Solar Vail apartments open with 65 units

Those units are all deed-restricted, meaning that only people who work an annual average of 30 hours per week can live there. That keeps the apartments out of the short-term rental pool and available to local residents.
