Vail rec district candidate forum Thursday

VAIL, Colorado ” Three candidates running for two seats on the Vail Recreation District board of directors will have a chance to participate in a forum Thursday.
Ross Davis Jr., Jeff Wiles and incumbent Michelle Hall are running for seats in the May 6 election. The forum begins at 5 p.m. and will coincide with the rec district’s regular board meeting.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 6 at the Vail Municipal Building at 75 S. Frontage Road.
Requests for an absentee ballot can be made by downloading a form at vailrec.com and then faxing it to (970)479-2197. Applications can also be hand-delivered from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the VRD’s administration offices at 700 S. Frontage Road East.
Requests for absentee ballots to be mailed can be made no later than 4 p.m. April 29. Applications to get an absentee ballot can be made in person through 4 p.m., May 2.
To request an absentee ballot, you must include your printed name, signature, address, mailing address if ballot is to be mailed and date of birth.
The Vail Recreation District is a special district and is separate from the town of Vail. It operates programs at the Vail Golf Club, Ford Park Tennis Center, Dobson Ice Arena, Vail Gymnastics Center, Vail Nature Center, Vail Nordic Center, and intramural sports and children’s camps.
