VAIL VALLEY, Colorado – Summer is finally here in Colorado’s Vail Valley and people all over the Valley cycling, running and rafting. Many of those people, or those that they recreate with, have research from the Steadman Hawkins Research Foundation to thank for allowing them to stay active. This summer, as a fundraiser and celebration of the mountain lifestyle, the nonprofit foundation hosts “A Night to Remember,” a special dinner event at Spago restaurant at The Ritz Carlton, Bachelor Gulch. Wines paired with the evening’s cuisine will be furnished by Duckhorn Wine Company, with the exception of the event’s chardonnay which will come from Morgan Winery. “This will be one of the Vail Valley’s ‘can’t miss’ summer events,” says Sheri Wharton, director of special events at the Steadman Hawkins Research Foundation. “We are celebrating one of Vail’s great institutions. The foundation has, in some way, made all of our lives better: whether it is in practicing and refining the surgical techniques that get us back on our bikes and skis or allow our parents to continue to play with their grandchildren.”Silent auction items include tickets for four to see U2; three nights at a beach-side home in Cabo San Lucas for four people; a romantic five-night stay for two at Cap Juluca Resort on St. Maarten; and a Meadowood Resort & Spa trip for six people for three nights with private tastings of Napa Valley Reserve and a private dinner at Read’s Leap. The Steadman Hawkins Research Foundation is one of the world’s leading orthopedic research foundations.”A Night to Remember” will be held July 24 at 6 p.m. Reservations are available for $500 per couple and can be made by contacting Sheri Wharton at 970-479-5788.
