Vail Resorts celebrates Mardi Gras
VAIL – Vail Resorts is hosting the “World’s Highest Low Country Crawfish Boil” with live music featuring Lil’ Brian and the Zydeco Travelers from noon-3 p.m. on top of the mountain. Last year crawfish enthusiasts downed nearly 8,000 crustaceans. The boil is followed by various festive parties at the Tap Room and Red Lion in Vail Village. Each bar will feature drink specials, beads, T-shirts and cajun food.Monday local restaurants Moe’s, Red Lion, Vendetta’s, Montauk, and Bart and Yeti’s will compete in a contest for best the Gumbo in Vail from noon- 8 p.m. It’s $2 per sample. Tap Room and Red Lion will again carry on the celebration with drink specials, Mardi Gras food, music and plenty of beads.A Mardi Gras parade will march down Vail Village from the International Bridge to the top of Bridge Street Tuesday with celebrity king and queen and prizes from the deck of Red Lion from 5- 6 p.m.For more information, call 476-9090.
