Vail Resorts expands its ‘Give & Getaway’ lodging program
Vail Resorts, Inc. announced this week it has expanded its “voluntourism” promotion, the “Give & Getaway” package. The is now available across the company’s managed hotels. The Give & Getaway package is centered around guests making volunteer contributions the communities they’re visiting. “Give & Getaway” projects include recreational trail restoration, working with sustainable local farmers and supporting local stream and river ecosystems. Full day, half-day and multi-day projects are available. Guests have the option to choose their accommodations from family style to high-end lodging. Participants receive a discounted lodging rates and amenities in return for their time and efforts.”The Give & Getaway package has been a successful initiative to promote conservation of the spectacular environments of our Colorado resorts and help our guests find even more value in their vacations,” said Rob Katz, CEO of Vail Resorts. “We know that especially in today’s economy, guests want to feel good about the vacations they take, and this program guarantees an exceptional hotel experience with a unique opportunity to positively impact the environment. Vail Resorts offers guests at its five mountain resorts the opportunity to participate in this fundraising effort by contributing $1 on season ski passes, $1 on online lift ticket transactions, and $1 per room night at its Colorado-based lodges. Each dollar raised is matched with 50 cents by the National Forest Foundation.
