BROOMFIELD — Vail Resorts has announced the promotion of Robert Tschupp to vice president of Eagle County Hospitality and John Dawsey to vice president of Colorado Mountain Express. The promotions are effective Thursday.
Tschupp will oversee Vail and Beaver Creek RockResorts properties, including The Arrabelle at Vail Square, The Lodge at Vail, The Osprey at Beaver Creek and The Pines Lodge, as well as Austria Haus and The Vail Marriott and Vail Beaver Creek Resort Properties. Tschupp has more than 35 years of experience and joined Vail Resorts in 2009 as the vice president and general manager of Colorado Mountain Express, where he’s had a significant impact on the business’s trajectory and performance.
In addition to his experience in the transportation logistics industry, Tschupp has extensive experience in the urban hotel, mountain resort, property management and travel industries. He has led teams at Hyatt Hotels, Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Hilton Hotels, Executive Resorts Travel and Outrigger Hotels/Royal Resorts in Hawaii, specializing in new business development, marketing, mergers and acquisitions, hotel openings and turnarounds, service rebranding and positioning, and operations.
In his new role Dawsey will assume oversight of Vail Resorts’ guest transportation services division. He has 22 years of experience in the hospitality industry, serving in a variety of sales and marketing leadership positions at properties across the Vail Valley and has been with Vail Resorts since 1997. Upon joining Colorado Mountain Express in 2009, Dawsey immersed himself in the leadership of the business, leveraging his sales and marketing background to help drive the company’s growth over the last six years.
“We are excited to welcome Robert and John into their new, expanded roles,” said James O’Donnell, senior vice president of lodging and real estate for Vail Resorts. “They both bring excellent leadership skills and extensive experience in hospitality operations, which will be key in helping us continue to elevate the guest experience at Vail Resorts.”
