Vail Resorts nonprofit seeks community-service projects

Daily staff report
Vail, CO Colorado

BROOMFIELD – Vail Resorts Echo – the ski company’s nonprofit branch – is seeking community-service project submissions for the organization’s Vail Resorts Echo Day project, which will be held in late August or September this year.

Last year, 400 people – all Vail Resorts employees and their families – came together for the inaugural Echo Day, which took place in eight resort locations across the country. All projects focused on habitat and trail restoration. This year, the resort plans to host 10 projects across the country and in the Caribbean.

The resort is asking local nonprofits to provide project ideas that will make a difference in the community and are tied to youth or environmental programs. Employee teams will vote from the applications submitted. Once a winner is selected, the Echo Day employee team will work with the nonprofit on planning and executing the event. Project examples include school clean-ups, playground improvements, trail builds or anything else that can utilize 150 volunteers for a half-day event. It also needs to be family-friendly and relatively easy to travel to.
