Vail Restaurant Month has more than 70 events

Vail Restaurant Month, set for Sept. 20 – Oct. 17, will present four themed weeks with more than 70 events. “I’ve had the pleasure to travel to the world’s most famous hotspots, but no destination offers what Vail does in the fall,” Vail Restaurant Month co-founder Ilene Rapkin said. “From outdoor adventures in gorgeous natural surroundings, to some of my all-time favorite restaurants, it’s always fun to surprise friends with the pleasures of Vail in this colorful season.”Kelly Liken, a recent competitor on “Iron Chef America” and “America’s Top Chef,” added, “It’s kind of a local secret that this is actually our favorite time of the year.” Each week of Vail Restaurant Month has its own theme highlighted by events and activities for singles, couples, groups and families. “Market to Table Week,” Sept. 20 – 26, will feature educational and inspirational events highlighted by artisanal and fresh farmed produce, hands-on cooking with star chefs, beer, spirits and wine tastings, and a special final Vail Farmers Market Sept. 26. “Health, Wellness & Outdoors Week”, Sept. 27 – Oct. 3, will showcase Vail’s outdoor activities including trail running, biking, hiking, yoga, fly-fishing, golfing, kayaking, climbing and ballooning, while also offering resort packages that include spa treatments. “LoveFest” Week, Oct. 4 – 10, will serve up activities for couples including breakfast in bed, chocolate and champagne tastings, thrilling themed dinners by candlelight, late night desserts, and romantic getaway packages at Vail hotels and resorts. “Family Week”, Oct. 11 – 17, focuses on activities for all ages, including sports, family dining, movie screenings, and “Little Foodies in the Kitchen” classes. Kids will learn from Vail’s top chefs how to cook and entertain for their friends and family, while gaining tips and education about nutrition, healthy eating habits and natural and organic ingredients.
