Vail restaurants get in the March Madness spirit with a bracket of their own

Vote for your favorite bar in Discover Vail’s Après Madness this March

You don’t have to be a 6’8” basketball star to win at Vail Après Madness, the tournament-style contest that Discover Vail is doing with local après ski bars throughout the month of March. Just sign up to vote at DiscoverVail.com/Apres-Madness and help your bar get to the championship.

March usually is all about the basketball brackets with the NCAA Division I college basketball tournaments happening, but Discover Vail decided to get in on the action and host a little competition of its own, with a ski town twist. Vail Après Madness pits Vail’s après ski bars against each other in a tournament-style competition and they need your input.  

Here’s how it works, Discover Vail has picked eight après ski bars throughout Golden Peak, Vail Village and Lionshead Village signed up to participate. Each week, anyone who has signed up for Discover Vail emails in the past or signs up between now and March 3, will receive an email to vote. The Tasteful Eight will be reduced down to the Flavorful Four, and then only two bars will remain until the champion is determined.

Here are the bars vying for support and the dates when you can cast your votes:

  • Feb. 27-Mar. 3: Los Amigos vs. Two Arrows
  • March 4-6: Archetype Distillery vs. Root & Flower
  • March 7-10: The Fitz vs. Avanti F&B Vail
  • March 11-13: Vail Chophouse vs. Express Lift Bar

First up on Feb. 27 – March 3, is Los Amigos vs. Two Arrows. Remember, it’s Los Amigos’ last season and this slope-side après ski staple wants to go out with a bang. Two Arrows definitely scores points in the endurance department. This Wall Street hideaway goes from early morning coffee to late night cocktails and has a variety of après ski activities for all interests. Do some research on the bars in the bracket and see who has the best signature drinks, delicious appetizers, lively musical offerings and who has championship vibes.

The winning bar won’t get a trophy, but it will get bragging rights and you’ll get rewarded for your votes with a celebratory bash. Discover Vail is throwing a Vail Après Madness Party at the location that makes it through the tournament with the most votes. Discover Vail plans to have either live music or a DJ and the first 100 drinks will be free the day of the event. There will also be a custom Vail Après Hat Creation Station. So, do your part and get your team, er, bar to the championship! You can sign up to vote at DiscoverVail.com/Apres-Madness.
